We were at a wedding reception at the weekend -- technically the couple called it a "Wedding Party" -- there was a live band.
The band were very good. However, why does the music need to be played at ear-drum-blasting levels? We were in a room the size of a badminton court, not a 50,000 seater stadium.
It was impossible for anyone to speak to each other. Several people asked for the volume to be lowered. The band obliged each time, but gradually ramped it up again.
After a few hours we left, while my eardrums still operated!
