Two biscuits is never enough

As a child a biscuit was a nice extra during the day. A chocolate biscuit was an absolutely treat.

My mother rationed our treat intake. We rarely got to select the brand of treat; it was whatever mum decided. It made the experience special, and exciting, as a child. If we were getting a chocolate biscuits we were permitted no more than two at treat time.

There was no malice in the giving out of treats -- it was just how it was done. We didn't expect, nor did we ever take without asking.

Of course, life moves on. Now that I am a grown-up (allegedly), I get the honour of controlling my own treats. Let's just say I did not continue my mum's discipline of things being special -- now everything is normal.

When it comes to the biscuits, I can never have one, or two; I must always have three, and it makes me feel like a rebellious boy!

For our American cousins across the pond, a biscuit is what you call a cookie. Oh how you ruined the English language. haha

And now for a cup of tea and "a" biscuit!
