Kagi Convinced Me

Back in February I blogged about the concept of Paying for Search on the internet.

It's an alien concept for most of us as we've had it 'free' for so long. I use the term free with some hesitation as we, are of course, being constantly profiled by the search engines as they gather data about us. All the knowledge is power and money to them.

My original blog post praised Kagi.com, and I enjoyed the focused results from my testing. However, actually stumping up with cash was still an uncertainty for me. I was then lucky enough to score a two-month trial via someone who had read my blog.

That two-month experience has now expired too.

And now?

Honestly, I can't imagine my search life without Kagi. The results are very focused. There is no user profiling, data gathering, adverts, or promoted sites.

Today I sent some of my hard-earned money to those nice people at Kagi and subscribed to a year of perfect searching. $130 for a year's unlimited searching.

They got me in the end!
