Book groups: I don't understand 📔
I enjoy reading. I go through period where I read a lot, then spells where the only thing I read is the internet.
Book Groups have always intrigued me. I genuinely don't understand how they work.
I believe (and could be wrong) that a bunch of literary fans get together in a room and chat about a book they have all read.
What do you talk about?
I consider myself a chatty person, and can eloquently hold a conversation. However, I can't think when I have ever read a book and thought 'I heed to talk about that'. I've certainly shared a brief comment with friends along the lines of 'yeah, I really enjoyed that' if they ask about a book I've read.
I'm not sure I could rhapsodise about a book, with any conviction.
Are you part of a book group? Enlighten me.
